As an Internationalist citizen of Persian descent, Nazila (she/her) has lived on three continents: Asia, Africa, and North America. She was born and raised in Iran, then moved to a lovely land called South Africa, and is now happily proud to be in the westernmost part of Canada, the historic-precious land of the First Nations.  

 

Her academic background is mainly integrated with Sustainable Tourism:

Diploma in Travel and Tourism Services

BA in Italian Language Translation

MA in Tourism Planning "Feasibility of Changing the Status of Post Mined Land Area to A Tourist Site for Sustainable Development in Rural Areas"

 

As a MA candidate in Sustainable Leisure Management at Vancouver Island University, her qualitative research title is "Leisure and Aging: Senior Visiting Parents of Immigrants." 

 

Nazila's professional background is also integrated with tourism as a travel agent and tour guide (both in Iran and Canada) and a remote travel columnist who wrote about Canada's tourist attractions in an online magazine based in Montreal. She is now an active BC member of the Canadian Tour Guide Association.
